Broiler padding method
The choice of litter type depends on the convenience of its source. The most commonly used are: rice husks, shavings, sawdust, bagasse and the like. Do not use hard-pressed shavings, because it is easy to break into sharp tips. After swallowing, chickens can easily cause the hernia sac and muscle stomach to be pierced and chicken body abscesses. Regardless of the choice of litter, it must be fresh, dry, dust-free, mold-free, and absorbent.
Matting management:
(1) Purpose: To maintain a 20% to 25% moisture content of the litter. Below 20%, dust in the litter becomes a serious problem. Above 25%, the litter becomes wet and clumps.
(2) Judgment criteria: When the dunnage is identified as containing excessive moisture, it can be squeezed into a ball by being held in the hand, and the dull mat is not adhered.
(3) After the chicken house is fully cleaned and disinfected, a new 8-10 cm thick bedding is spread and sprayed with a highly effective and low-toxic disinfectant to disinfect the bedding.
(4) For damp and agglomerated dunnage, all new dunnage must be replaced and the original thickness returned.
