The decayed melon of fruit is a rot caused by high temperatures. The symptoms are: the initial growth of fruit is still relatively normal, gradually began to deform, the fruit surface has a brown depression spots, but not rot, cut open melon, melon flesh was dry rot. During the ripening period, water spots began to form in the melons, and the melons began to rot inside the fermentation, causing odors.

Causes

Melon with rotten flesh has a low incidence of melon because of its low sugar content. Most of them are heavier in the late growth stage. According to our understanding and observation, it is related to excessive nitrogen fertilizer in soil, calcium deficiency in soil, lack of boron, and high degree of soil salinization. Many melon farmers are pursuing melon production and chasing more urea. Because of excessive nitrogen fertilizer, they affect the absorption of calcium, magnesium, and boron fertilizers by melon. Because of the lack of hormones in the plants, they cause fermented pulp decay; another reason is the high temperature, melons are The maturation period is in mid-to-late May, when the weather is warm, the supply of carbohydrates will be insufficient, and the metabolism and distribution of carbohydrates will be uneven. This will cause the sugar to transform too quickly, speeding up the water-stained state of the flesh and forming a stinky gourd. Rotten melon.

Prevention measures

1. Select disease-resistant varieties, such as Elizabeth, Beijing Sweet No. 5, Baisha Mi and other more disease-resistant varieties.

2. Scientific fertilization, balanced fertilization. When used as a basal fertilizer, 3000 kg of decomposed human and animal manure per mu, 1 kg of boron per family, and 5 kg of Indian calcium are used. When topdressing melon, in addition to supplying sufficient quantities of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers, a sufficient amount of calcium and magnesium should be added, and zinc, boron, and iron fertilizers should be properly supplemented. When dressing fertilizers, do not use nitrogen fertilizer as a top dressing. Apply 5 kg of Indian calcium and 15 kg of Federal Potash per acre.

3. In the early stage of melon growth, foliar spray of 300 times Indian calcium + natural brassin - Shuofong 481, even spray 2 or 3 times.
