Ventilation - an important factor affecting hatching

During the development of chicken embryos, gas exchange must be carried out. Especially on the 19th day of incubation (12 hours in advance in summer), the embryos begin to breathe in the lungs, and the oxygen demand gradually increases, and the carbon dioxide emission increases gradually. At this time, if the ventilation is poor, the incubator will be severely deprived of oxygen. Even if the amount of respira- tory of hatched chicks is increased by 2-3 times, the need for oxygen will not be satisfied. As a result, the intermediate metabolism of cells will be inhibited and the acidic substances will be inhibited. Accumulation of the body, the tissue increased carbon dioxide partial pressure and metabolic respiratory acidosis, resulting in decreased cardiac output, myocardial ischemia, necrosis, heartbeat disorder and beating stop.
It was determined that the oxygen consumption of each embryo during the entire incubation period was 4-4.5 L, and 3-3.5 L of carbon dioxide was discharged. The test showed that the oxygen content in the incubator decreased by 1%, then the hatching rate decreased by 5%; the carbon dioxide content around the embryos and eggs should not exceed 0.5%; when the carbon dioxide reached 1%, the embryo development was delayed, the mortality rate increased, and the deformity increased. Normal oxygen in the air can be maintained at 20%-21%. Therefore, the key to ventilation is to try to reduce the concentration of carbon dioxide around the embryonic eggs. The effect of ventilation and ventilation is related to the structure of the incubator, the architectural design of the hatchery (room), and the internal and external environment of the incubator.
Compared with the factors that affect the hatching rate, temperature is the first, followed by ventilation. Why are many books sorted by temperature, humidity, ventilation, ... instead of temperature, ventilation, and humidity? The reason is simple. The method of artificial hatching is based on the mother's egg. In the dry place, the birds are selected in the dry place, and the birds are mostly in the trees. The number of hatching is small, so the ventilation does not have to take into account too much; the artificial incubation is different, and the capacity of the modern incubator is in the thousands. More than one, so, ventilation is important, and in addition, many tests in previous years have shown that waterless hatching does not affect or affect the hatching rate.
Most of the old-fashioned incubators suffer from shortcomings such as low number of fans, low speed, and unreasonable distribution. Not only are ventilations incomplete, there are dead corners, and heat energy cannot be sent to various places as quickly and evenly as possible, so that the temperature difference in the incubator is too large. For this purpose, modifications or replacements of new incubators should be carried out.
