Liaoning farmers have guidance on fertilization

Since 2005, Liaoning Province's Ecological Weather Monitoring Center will provide comprehensive guidance to farmers in scientific farming, scientific fertilization, and regulation of soil fertility to support sustainable agricultural development.

In order to achieve the purpose of promoting soil testing and fertilization and promoting the comprehensive utilization and harmless disposal of organic fertilizers, the newly established Eco-environmental Meteorological Monitoring Center of the province has used eco-environmental monitoring networks to organize 25 ecological weather stations in 14 cities in the province and simultaneously Two deep soil samples were taken from the farmland, and soil organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium were measured and analyzed. Basically, the nutrient content and spatial distribution of farmland soil in the province were ascertained. The monitoring results showed that the average soil total nitrogen, total phosphorus, alkali-hydrolyzable nitrogen, available potassium, total potassium, organic matter and available phosphorus were present in the province, and the basic approach to maintain and increase soil nutrients was proposed.

Recently, the Liaoning Province Eco-environmental Meteorological Monitoring Center issued the "Monitoring Assessment Report of Farmland Soil Nutrients" to the whole city. The report pointed out that at present, farmland soil fertility in the province is in general and it belongs to a medium level. Among them, the highest soil fertility is in Liaodong region; the soil fertility in Liaoxi region is low, and attention should be paid to the reasonable collocation of inorganic fertilizer and organic fertilizer such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. According to experts, to maintain proper input of organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer to arable land, and adopt reasonable cultivation methods to achieve the combination of farmland soil “sustainable use” so as to achieve sustainable utilization.
