Staying Entertained

While I’ll admit I was a little nervous about leaving my husband and our rambunctious three-year-old daughter alone for a few days, I quickly realized I had nothing to worry about. My husband is the king of keeping things fun and interesting, especially when it comes to entertainment. He’s always been the type to stockpile games and activities from his own childhood—things that kept him entertained back in the day—and now they serve as his secret weapon whenever chaos looms. The moment I left, he pulled out one of his old favorites, something that promised hours of fun. They dove right into it, and sure enough, those competitive juices started flowing like never before. But let me tell you, there’s no one tougher to beat than my little firecracker of a daughter. She’s got lightning-fast reflexes, and it doesn’t hurt that she’s completely fearless. Take, for example, the time we played "Simon Says." She was supposed to wait until the last second before reacting, but somehow her trigger-happy finger pressed the button way too early every single time. Honestly? Neither of them seemed to mind. It’s not like rules matter all that much when you’re having so much fun. And you know what? Deep down, I think my husband secretly enjoys losing. Watching her beam with pride after “winning” makes his day brighter than anything else. Plus, he gets the added bonus of being able to say things like, “Oh, I let her win!” Which, let’s face it, is probably half the fun. I trust him completely to keep things running smoothly while I’m gone. After all, he’s got a knack for turning even the simplest moments into unforgettable adventures.
