Zhu Lin said that the Ministry of Health listed these traditional medical techniques as "medical techniques that people can choose to use." In addition to Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Thai medicine can also become one of the regular medical techniques.
Zhu Lin said that practitioners of Chinese medicine will be able to practice medicine in Thailand if they have a legally licensed medical certificate. The relevant laws and regulations will be included in the government gazette and will come into effect in the near future. The first batch of 320 Chinese medicine doctors will be licensed to practice medicine in Thailand.
In addition, the Ministry of Health will list Thai herbal medicine and Thai herbal medicines on the list of regular prescriptions, and receive the same hospital medicine subsidies as Western medicine prescriptions. Any hospital that participates in the national free medical system will issue Thai herbal medicines to patients and receive 2 yuan per person. The subsidy will be increased to 6 per person next year. The number of 19 Thai herbs currently listed in the national regular medicine list will also increase by 533. Zhu Lin also said that medical schools will also increase the establishment of Thai medicine courses, and currently there are more than 1,000 college students studying Thai medicine courses and will continue to increase next year.
