The pharmacological effects of honeysuckle

Pharmacological effects

Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects

The luteolin contained in this product inhibits the growth of Staphylococci and Bacillus subtilis at a concentration of 1:350,000. It also has inhibitory effects on catarrh, white rosary, typhoid fever, dysentery, and deformation. The 50% decoction of honeysuckle on the ground, using a flat trenching method, has an inhibitory effect on Salmonella typhi, Shigella flexneri, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa; 50% of stems and leaves of fresh juice on Salmonella typhi, Shigella flexneri, and Staphylococcus aureus has an inhibitory effect but is weaker than the entire aerial part of the stem. There is also a strong anti-infection effect in the body. The HS u-is virus has a strong inhibitory effect. At the dose of 20 mg/kg×7d, the inflammation process induced by the implantation of wool balls in rats was significantly inhibited.

忍冬藤

Honeysuckle vine leaves (Lonicerae sinensis): It contains chlorogenic acid, isochloric acid and luteolin as the main antibacterial active ingredients, and it has inhibitory effects on many pathogenic bacteria and viruses of livestock and poultry. If a certain amount of honeysuckle vine leaves (Lonicerae sinensis) powder can be added during the animal feeding process, fever, wind and heat, throat inflammation, pneumonia, diarrhea, swollen ulcers, erysipelas, and cellulite can be prevented or treated. Efficacies such as inflammation have a very good effect.

In addition, honeysuckle leaves vinegar water on children with eczema, skin itching also has a good effect.

The role of cardiovascular

Luteolin decreased the diastolic amplitude of isolated frog hearts at a concentration of 5×10, slightly decreased the systolic amplitude, slowed the heart rate, and reduced the output. At a concentration of 2×10, the systolic and diastolic amplitudes of isolated guinea pig hearts can be increased, and the heart rate becomes faster, but there is no direct effect on the coronary arteries and blood volume. For dog's cardiopulmonary devices, 5 to 10 mg luteolin can increase arterial pressure and decrease venous pressure. 10 mg can reduce blood flow in rats' lower limbs (33%). 5 to 15 mg can increase blood pressure in cats and dogs12 ~30%. The above effects cannot be blocked by alpha-adrenergic blockers. 0.5g/kg subcutaneous injection of rats has the effect of enhancing capillaries. Experimental atherosclerosis in rabbits has the effect of lowering blood cholesterol.

Antispasmodic effect

Luteolin has antispasmodic effect on rabbit isolated small intestine, guinea pig tracheal smooth muscle and ileum.

Other effects

With the mouse phenol red method and rat capillary test, luteolin has a better scorpion effect. Luteolin can inhibit the growth of NK/Ly ascites carcinoma cells in vitro. Luteolin has an antispasmodic effect on smooth muscle (rabbits in the small intestine) but less than papaverine; and mild diuresis (increases the discharge of sodium chloride).

Luteolin can cause thymus atrophy after oral administration in young rats (25 to 28 days after birth). This effect is related to the pituitary-adrenal system and can be used to explain its anti-inflammatory effects. Luteolin inhibits the growth of staphylococci and Bacillus subtilis in vitro at a concentration of 1:350000
